New Castle Residence

Triggered by new and significant architectural work, the clients sought to reinvigorate the existing landscape. The design program involved creating more usable landscape space on a terraced property surrounded on two sides by a historic cemetery. The use of innovative stone elements was inspired by clients that requested “ideas” to respond to.

The result was a sculptural fire pit and rear terrace that visually makes reference to the cemetery and a unique stone book shelve. The stone bookshelf has books carved in stone by Terrence Parker. The clients have made this project a joy to work on over the years. This project has been photographed by several magazines, most recently by Coastal Home in the summer of 2010, and has appeared on the cover of the Accent Magazine in May/June 2005.
